Résumé,
This work "problems encountered by Burundian Journalists in the Translation of French News into English : case of RTNB and REMA Radio-Television" sets out to examine the problems encountered by Burundian journalists when they are translating news from from French into English in the case of local Radio-Television namely RTNB? THE NATIONAL BROADCASTER AND rema Radio-Television. As a matter of fact, this topic presupposes the deepest analysis of the specific limitations of translatability of some texts, papers from french into English. The data were collected using questionnaire and documentation and 25 journalists were concerned by the research as informants. With regard to this work, some hypotheses were set namely : the translation skills contribute in producing good translation tasks, the linguistic and cultural dissimilarities between two language can cause the untranslatability of certain lexical items appropriately; French language can infer in the translation process from French into English. This work has tackled different methods, techniques and procedures used in translation. The analysis of the data from questionnaire and documentation from the aforementioned stations showed that there are some factors that hinder easy translation. These are namely the lack of enough knowledge of translation and training, the technical English which requiring extra knowledge and update elements, the ignorance of the target and/or source language background. According to the data gathered, the findings confirm the hypotheses that were set.
