Résume;

This study whose title is "BURUNDI TECHNICAL SECONDARY SCHOOLS STUDENTS' PERCEPTION OF ENGLISH FOR SPECIFIC PURPOSES" seeks to investigate the ways English should be improved in technical secondary schools. The main concern of this study is to check if Technical Secondary school learners have a positive attitude towards the learning of English for specific purposes, if the English course contents are adapted to the learners needs and if the teaching materials for English for specific purposes are available and adequate in Technical Secondary Schools, and thus provide some suggestions about how to improve the teaching/learning of the English language in technical secondary schools. The study was carried out on 143 respondents, i.e 141 pupils and 2 teachers of KTSS, two research techniques, classroom observation, teachers' and pupils' questionnaires were used. In the end, the researcher found out that pupils of technical secondary schools perceive the English language for specific purposes positively, the teaching materials used to teach English in Burundi technical secondary schools are not appropriate and learners are interested in the learning of English. These weaknesses identified pushed the researcher to propose the following strategies to improve the learning of English in Burundi Technical Schools in general and in KTSS in particular, namely : to elaborate an adequate program for technical secondary schools and to provide sufficient and appropriate teaching/learning materials to both teachers and learners.
