Language influence on the business of maneychanging, words and expressions were linguistically and sociolinguistically analyzed. Three research instruments such as obesrvation, interview, and questions were used. Moneychangers were closely observed in their naturel milieu ( workplace ) by the researcher to see how they use languages with different people speaking different languages. The fact that they engaged in informal activities, they were alert in their language choice. This is done ti fill lexical gap in their everyday communication as a way of keeping expression flowing and making communication casy to avoid communication breakdown due to the lack of words. The objectives helped the analysis to get to an inner insight of the real cause of using code switching. Compensatory language, register and slangs. This was evident in the data analysis whereby observation and interview revealed that when moneychangers lack an equivalent word in our own language they resort to borrowing, coinage, or compounding.
