RESUME,

The primary school teachers and learners are faced by many difficulties .The research shows that many languages pupils learn,that is,French,Kirundi,Kiswahili and English,give them trouble and cause confusion or interference.As far as English is concerned,my work aims at identifying the problems encountered in English by both primary school teachers and learners in 3rd and 4 th Grades,in some selected schools of Bukeye Commune.Practically,a number of instruments were utilized to collect data,here are:questionnaire for teachers,questionnaire for pupils;and the classroom observation.Data collected were qualitatively and quantitatively analyzed.The data were summarized,categorized and converted into percentages,afterwards were interpreted with some comments where it was necessary.The research revealed that the English teaching/learning process and gave the floor to the further researches which would suggest more solutions.
