Résumé,

This study is entitled : "the Impact of Communication Strategies ont the Effective Vocabulary Teaching : the case of third form arts pupils in secondary dchools in Kayokwe commune".
It seeks out how pupils in third form arts resort tocommunication strategies while communicating in English interaction. As Burundi speech community is composed of more than two languages, the types and frequencies of learners' strategies use constitute this work analysis and findings.

Teachers' awareness about learners' communication stratégies and their teaching techniques are assessed in this study. In addition, the positive impact on the effective English vocabulary teaching is established. During this study research, questionnaire and classroom observation methods are used to get data for analysis. After analysis, it is found that pupils in third form arts rely a lot on communication strategies while communicating in English. Furthermore, teachers' implementation of communication strategies affects positively their teaching process. The lack teaching materials, the big size of the class and insufficiency of the time allocated to the English course constitute the obstacles to effective vocabulary teaching. So, pupils should participate in English communication using paraphrase, gestures, description, and word coinage strategies. Teachers should make pupils aware about strategy effectiveness for the communication to be effective. In addition, English teachers should focus on vocabulary teaching while teaching and applying communicative language teaching to enable pupils communicate effectively in English communication.
