RESUME

This work aimed at providing a better understanding for some words and expressions used as jargon in the Dutwe Junior Seminarists' talk during the 2012-2013 school year. It comprise four main chapters. The first chapter which is "The General Introduction" is made up of two main parts : the first part is the Background to the Study and comprises the Statement of the Problem, the Purpose of the Study, the Research Questions, the Importance of the Study, the Motivations of the Study and the Delimitation and Scope of the study. The second part which is "A Literature Review" includes what is said about Sociolinguistics and Sociolinguistics in Small Groups, why people prefer to use a Jargon, the setting of the Jargon, who participate in the Jargon and some works related to the Jargon by some scholars.

The second chapter, which is "Methodology" talks about the Population used as informants, the choice of informants, the Data Collection Procedures and the Data analysis procedures. The third chapter, which is the greatest and most important part of this work is "The Data Presentation. Analysis and Discussion, and Interpretation of the Findings" The second part on data analysis and discussion includes the data from the Direct Observation and responds to the data from the questionnaire. The second on Interpretation of the Findings shows the main findigns and their interpretations. The later responds to the research questions. After the analysis it was found our that this jargon used in Dutwe Junior Seminary is not standard but rich in social values. It is only understood by its users since most of the words and expressions used by then are found in everyday talk.
Therefore, an outsider of this school community will not be able to grasp the message because the Junior Seminarists of Dutwe make that language a coded one while the hearer will look forward to the original meaning of the word or expression. Its meaning depends on the society and context in which it is used. The fourth chapter includes the General Conclusion and Recommandations. The general conclusion tells the reader what is included in the three first chapters and the recommandations invite other researchers to earry their studies in that school community knowing that any other research on the jargon has not just been carried there.
