Assessment of the motivational strategies applied in the teaching of english speaking skills in the english teaching centers in Bujumbura city

This work aims at finding out how the English speaking skill is taught in the English Teaching Centers in Bujumbura city. The Main objective of the work is to see wherther both English teachers and students are motivated or not, if effective strategies are applied by, first and foremost teachers, then officials and students on their side. This work sets out also to invesigate on the availability and the usage of the teaching materials that can help to facilitate the work while teaching the speaking skill in ordre to help the learner to connect the language to its use. Questionnaires, intrview and classroom observation were used as research instruments to collect data. After the analyss of data, I noticed that improvements in teaching the speakng skill have been made, but some threats were foud due to some criteria such as lack of follow-up, motivation on the side of both learners and teachers. Recommendations for improvement were put forward to all stakeholders in education.
