This thesis with the sociolinguistic study of the jargon spoken by workers at Teza tea company.It aims at investigating jargon wods and expressions and analyse them a sociolinguistic perspective.Those are words and expressions that common people do not know or understand.To achieve this,informants were selected.The instruments used to collect data included among others,personal observation,questionnaire,interview.Finally,he researcher came up with ninety-nine words and expressions which organate from Kirundi,French and English.It was revealed that the jergon words and expression used by workers at the Teza tea company undergo a semantic change.This work also revealed that workers use their jargon in order to escape fom the autorities,to respect cultural values,to exclude others and to reduce seriousness.Words are transferred into their special language by using linguistic mechanisms like borrowing,reduplication,clipping,coinage and blends.They are also ecqually transferredusing semantic relationsuch synonymy,polysemy,antonymy and stylistic devices such as hyberbole,euphemism and mentonymy,Finally,the researcher concluded his work by recommending to carry out further research in companies which are not explored and suggested that they should come up with new approaches.
