Résumé,

The aim of this study is to investigate the problems related to technical English class management in some public technical post-fundamental schools in general and in Gatumba in particular. This implies how English teachers organize technical English classes. The research intended to provide the answer to the problem related to teaching technical English as a new option, problems related to teaching materials and problems related to the environment. It was carried out in three technical public post-fundamental schools of Gatumba with at least one teacher at each school. The study was conducted using naturalistic classroom observation and two written questionnaires one was to be answered by the teachers who had been observed in teaching and other to be answered by the pupils who had been observed in attending the courses. The research had revealed that the main cause of unsuccessful class management is the lack of didactic materials. Another important challenge to successful class management is the lack of teachers' capacity reinforcement. It has equally revealed that the weak basic knowledge of the pupils is another important issue to deal with. Last but not least, it had been shown that the mixture of languages by pupils is another handicap to the effective class management. Then, for a good management, recommendations were made.
