RÉSUME,
This work dealt with an Assessment of the Teaching-Learning of English Pronouns and Learners' Errors Analysis. The study was conducted in Mutumba Commune, un Karusi province. The researcher investigated the way English pronouns are taught and errors committed by learners in the use of pronouns. In so soing, he investigated methods applied by teachers while teaching pronouns, the specification of errors occurring in the learners' language usage of pronouns, their classification as well as their causes. To achieve the purpose, the researcher used three instruments namely the questionnaire for teachers and learners, learners' diagnostic written test and classroom observation to find out what really happens while teaching and learning pronouns during the lesson. The results from the collected data revealed that the learners' errors can be classified in one main category namelt errors of wrong selection of pronouns. THey are mainly caused by interlingual transfer especially French, overgeneralization due to the lack of enough time to master the structure, and poor teaching methods applied by teachers. The teachers converged on the fact that time allotted to teaching pronouns should be increased and school be equipped with enoygh English grammar books.
