Résumé,

The study deals with a pragmatic interpretation of one Kirundi poetic song "URANTUNGA PEREZIDA" by a traditional singer Emmanuel Nkeshimana. It aims at detectingthe message transmitted through the utterances that made up this song and analyses them from a preagmatic perpective. Due to the complexity of pragmatic field, the interpretation was mainly conducted in terms of illocutionally and perlocutionaly acts in order to detect the message hidden behind words that make up this song and the possible effects they might have up on the hearers. Other pragmatic notions approached are the face for the purpose of investigating theface threatening acts carried by the utterances and the strategies used to soften them. It was also studied the device of speech in order to focus on the use and success of indirectness in the song .To achieve the success, data was collected andthe instrument used to collect data is the tape recording which is an efficientmean of collecting data when study is conducted on song. Finally the researcher came up with six song of the same singer among them " URANTUNGAPEREZIDA" which was then writtten on paper in order to deal with the deep interpretation. It was revealed that the utterances of the song "URANTUNGA PEREZIDA" contain a significance message which was consciously or unconsciously implied by singer. The song contains several illocutionary acts such as denouncing, warning, deploringapologizing and so on. Moreover, it was revealed that this song is characterized by the use of indirectnedd as it uses many devices of speech that lead to the mitigation of face threatening acts carried by this song. Finally the researcher concluded this work by suggesting to carry out further research in other linguistic fields such us semantics or other in order to improve the present study or to come up with new approaches.
