Résume,
The present work deals with a sociolinguistic study of words and expressions used in the jargon spoken by pupils at Bururi Lycée in 2016-2017 School year. The study was conducted in Burundi Lycée where nine classes of upper level were selected as sample. The study was carried out with 90 respondents, that is 30 in section of Arts, 30 in scientific B section and 30 in scientific A Section. Questionnaires were used to collect the data. After analyzing the data collected from the students of the class under study, the researcher found out that during the creation of the jargon, two ways have been used. He also found out that since many words were taken from normal languages such as Kirundi, French, Swahili, English, they also have two meanings that is general meaning or dictionary meaning and social meaning. While concluding this work, the researcher suggests some areas is which future researchers can make contributions in order to compliment.
