Résumé,

This thesis provides the reader with the challenges encountered in learning English speaking skill in the information technology management Section : Case of the third of some private post Basic schools in Bujumbura City. Communication is needed for students to achieve their studies goals in English speaking skill. I seek to know the student's challenges in learning the speaking skill, their causes and possible solutions to the challenges Thirteen schools are treated as subjects of the study. The instruments used to gather the data were observation, questionnaires and face to face conversation. Then answers to the specific questions were categorized and analyzed. From the analysis I found that students face many challenges when studying the speaking skill. The main challenges students meet are the lack of enough time for the speaking skill, the low level in English because of their training background, overpopulation of classes and the lack of teaching materials for the speaking skill. To these challenges, suggestions have been the increase of time allotted to the English course, the search for a time for reinforcement, creation of English clubs, and supply for enough teaching materials for the skill. Recommendation to the students have been to be conscientious of the need of English for their professional future, to read many books, to participate in English speaking clubs, to converse in English, to listen to English broadcasting stations. To English teachers they have been recommended to plan and teach English speaking lessons, to favor English clubs, to give many tests about speaking. To the ministry of education recommendation have been to supply adequate and enough materials to teach the English speaking skill, to give the English language additional time.
