RESUME,

This worktitled<< victorian ideologies in Charles dickens' Hard times>> examines the victorian ideologies and their consequences as they are presented in Dickens'Hard times. The work aims at analysing the political and economic ideologies of the victorian age and their consequences as they are portrated in this novel. It also analyses Dickens' vision on the Victorian ideologies as depicted in charles Dickens' Hard times victimize both people of the upper class and those of the lower class from the basic human rights.Through our analysis of the novel,we realised that economic and academic institutions are structured to affect both the rich as wellas the poor. The systems in place redure the workers to mere robots in the hands of property owners.Foregrounded on Marxsist approach which does not only consider literature as mirror of class struggle but also as a theory f economics, history, society and revolution, and the psychoanalytic approach whose criticism is a form of literary criticism which uses some of the techniques of psychoanalysis in the interpretation on literature, this work concludes that charles Dickens' hard times develops victorian ideologies which treat people in ana unfair way.
