RESUME,
This research aims at investigating on motivation of Burundian defense and security forces to English Language learning.The principal aim of my research is to reveal the importance of English language in Burundi Defence and security Forces and bring to the stakecholders' sensitivity strategies to echance English learning moivation.Three research hypotheses are to be proven during this research:during their peace keeping missions in English speaking countries,defense and security forces develop English learning motivatin,defence and security forces that are not yet sent in English speaking countries lack English learning motivation.Finally,the assu^mption is that there is an outstading influence of the linguistic environment on an indivisual's desire to learn alanguage.
Twenty soldiers and police officers (different ranks were ranks) were chosen to as key informants considering on whether they have been or not in English speaking countries for peace keeping mission.Thus,a questionnaire were administered to them while a direct conversation was conducted for en extra information recording from testimonies and some realities that were not given within the questionnaire administration.
The findings indicaded that Burundi troop units sent for peace keeping mission in English speaking countries encounter circumstances and situations in which English is used and so are motivated to learn English.On another hand,it was proven that Burundian Defense and security Forces who are not vet sent in english speaking countries for peace keeping are set in an environment where mostly Kirundi and French are used.It was proven that this last category of soldiers and police do not have motivation to learn English language.
