Résumé,

This work investigated and analysed the errors that the fourth form students make in using active and passive forms. Besides, it is intended to identify and find out what may be at the origin of those errors.

In other words, its to find out the causes of errors when the fourth form students are tackling active and passive voices.
When carrying out this study,154 respondents were involved, that is, 150 students and 4 teachers of English in selected secondary schools in Kayanza and Ngozi Provinces.

Thus, the researcher discovered that among the errors fourth form students are likely to commit, some are due to the non-mastery of grammar rules such as bad use of irregular verbs, bad use of tenses.
Others are due to the poor teaching methods or the ignorance of learners.
Another amount of errors happens because the cause is not well know or specified. Consequently, a number of recommendations were made to the government, teachers and future researchers.
