It analyseschallenges faced by africans ( black) in a foreign land and the unfavourable treatment od women in their societies. The study examines the black's experience in a western society where they face different social and cultural challenges. Concerning gender prejudices in this work, G.D. Nyamndi wants to give a fundamental feminist message that women are not inferior in nature, but are inferiorized by culture. Racial consciousness and Gender Prejudices in G.D. Nyamndi's Facing Meamba is a mirror through which the author emphasizes African culture instead of western culture and calls on women to stand up and fight for their rights insocieties. This study is written based on thehypothetical assumption that the racial and gender challenges that Nyamndi's characters in Facing Meamba encounter create consciousness that enables the characters to fight for their rights. Facing Meamba encounter create consciousness that enables the characters to fight for their rights. Firstly written against the background of the feminist theory, this stuy analyses the question of gender prejudices and how it hampers female development and that of the nation as well. Secpondary written against New Historicism this study also analysis the racial consciousness of blacks who were in the land of whites. The study concludes that women are physically intellectually powerful but their force is not sufficiently exploited. Women are conscious of their living situation the reason why they got an idea to fight for their rights? It also concludes that people are the same. All races equal and have to be treated with the same benefits. We recommend that western countries should be aware of human freedom and that theories that oppress women should be banished.Women should participate i every activit they judge important for the development.
