A language is an important tool that any society uses to communicate and maintain interactions amongs its members.Thus,Kirundi proberbs are used by Burundians as a means of communication in diffent circonstances even in bringing people up,Kirundi proverbs related to laziness are the cornerstones of a functional use of language by invinting Burundians to fight against language.
This study on"A pragmatic analysis of some Kirundi proverbs related to laziness" aimed at analyzing the intention of the speaker when s/he utters a proverb related to laziness and the impact this has on the audience/reader.
Moreover,it hinges on two main hypotheses namely;
1) What is the intention of the speaker when s/he utters a related to laziness?
2)What impact can peoverbs related to laziness have on the hearer when uttered?
When people uttered a proverb related to Laziness,they have the intention of teaching and giving some advices to the hearer.These proverbs have impact to the hearer because people change their bad behavior or ideas after being adressed the proverb.
