RESUME,

This work examines of the reincarnated person in lkwerre society as presented by Elechi Amadi in The Concubine. This work proceds to investigate how a woman is manipulated between the invisible and the visible world. Because of human experience, a man is caught in the web of the supernatural forces which lead him to a tragic end. Our study traces the different failed attempts by the heroine of the novel. Ihoma to settle down with a man in marriage. Through this, we explore man's experience and blindness to discover that the lady is not meant to be possessed by a mortal being. This work is based on the hypothetical assumption uncontrolled supernaturalpowers inn Amadi's The concubine is the main cause of the tragedy that characterizes the novel. In this regard, a human being is powerless and limùited in knowledge of the true nature of god. As a theoretical framework, we applied the Sociological Approach because in a society, nobody lives a completely isolated existence. This theory helps us to situate ou analysis withinthe Igbo tradition and the people's spiritual beliefs. We came to the conclusion that, because of the spiritual environment in which he lives, a human being finds himself in a situation of vulnerability that leads him to tragedy.
