RESUME,

Human beings use language for diverse purposes primarily related to communication. Among these purposes, the language can be used to inform, to request for something to infer, to relate, to regulate. Whith these purposes, an amount of thoughts and ideas are communicated between people. Corruption constitutes one of the subjects that are conversed between people from different sides. In Burundi, corrupt people use a language which is not not accessible to anyone. It is an immoral practice and society disapproves it. In this work, we set out to investigate on the language that corrupt people use, why they use such a coded language and the impact it has on the interlocutors, drawing information from different categories of people which constitutes the country's life. The analysis revealed that the language used involves implicature. It was found out that corruption is referred to by people using a varied language. Secretaries, policeman, drivers, motorbike, all have their own way of conversation when they are talking about corruption . The reasons why they use a coded language is to prevent others from accessing their communication. As such the impact or the risks on them are redoced, both faces are preserved.
