RESUME,

One of the problems faced by learners in some language centers is that a great number of teachers do not take into account their learners’ needs when they are preparing what to teach. most of the time they put together learners who should be taught in different classes according to their needs and according to their levels.
The present study “ ASSESSING THE ADEQUACY BETWEEN LEARNERS’NEEDS AND THE TEACHING PROGRAM : Case of “ ENGLISH FOR ALL”CENTER IN BUYENGERO COMMUNE aims to examine if teaching program used by teachers in BUYENGERO commune’s “ ENGLISH FOR ALL”CENTER IN BUYENGERO COMMUNE aims to examine if the teaching program used by teachers in BUYENGERO commune’s “ENGLISH FOR ALL center for teaching English is appropriate for the learners’ needs and levels. For this purpose, we described the learners’ age; educational background, and linguistic environment and we submitted them to a written questionnaire; we also proceeded by classroom observation, and document analysis. The results show that the teaching program does not correspond to the learners’ expectations. We recommend that diagnostic test be given to the candidates to determine their level so that only students of about the same level are taught together. We also recommend that learners’ needs assessment should be done so that teachers in different English language centers teach according to the needs of learners.
