RESUME,
This study focusedon the problems Encountered in Teaching and learning the English reading skill in Burundi secondary schools.A carried out in First for arts Classes of Non-urbain public schools in Bubanza Province.This study was corried out with 56 resondents that is,50 students of first form arts section and 6 teachers of non- urban public schools in Bubanza province.The questions on this study were grouped into two main themes as instrument used to collect data needed .As far as fidings are concerned,this study revealed that:teachers and students of first form arts setionin non-urban public schools in Bubanza province .have some difficulties in teaching and learning the reading skill.First of all,their materials are not sufficient,the environment where the schools in Bubanza province have some difficulties in teaching and leaning the reading skill..THrough what we observed and what teachers and students answered ,the reading skill is not well taught and learns in First Form arts section.The researcher suggested various strategies which may help to overcome these problems that the learners of Arts section of non-urbanpublic schools encounter during the process of learning of Arts section non-urban public schools encounter during the process of learning the education in Burundi to play their role in order to help students to like more reading.It is by reading that students learn many things like some structures and vocabularies which will help them to master even other courses they study in class now,or a good language they will use in their everyday life after studies.
