RESUME,

This work was abaout the teachers' and learners' perception of the current textbook content materials for the learning of the four English skills in 9th Grade basic schools.The researcher aimed at seeking how teachers and learners consider the 9th Grade English textbooks and its contents because this consideration can enhance or hinder the learning of the four English skills.This study was conducted in Ngozi commune.Data were collected using written questionnaire and interview with 9th Grade learners and 9th Grade teachers.The selection of the schools and participants was done randomly where 1/5 of the total number was selected.Findings show that the 9th Grade English textbooks have good physical appearance according to both the teachers and the learners.Those textbooks is that the mentioned textbooks do not contain enough materials for the learning of the four English skills.The 9 th English textbooks' view.Nevertheless,according to them,the four English skills lacks and activities designed for listening,whriting,reading and speaking skills.It may,therefore,be understood that the 9 th Grade textbooks appear well but are irrelevant to the learning of four English skills according to the teachers and the learners.
