RESUME,

This study entiled A FRAGMATIC ANALYSIS OF POLITICAL SONGS:THE CASE OF SONGS BY LION aims at making a full understanding of the four songs below:"Rekura uwo mu Rasta" ,abantu b'imidiha " Izangondagonde" ,"Ndongozi" by Lion story Group.It also aims at working out a pragmatic analysis of those songs to see the deep meaning it encompasses.Through this pragmatic study,we drag in to the open the hidden cultural mearning by analyzingg them according to the context.We felt the urge to work on political songs because this type of songs has a lot to conribute to the lives of Burundians
In carrying out our research,we decided to use a tape-recorder.That tape contained twelve songs and only four are analyzed.We trancribe those songs on my tape recording in order to copy them down on sheets of paper.This nade easy the task of selection of words and exressions relevant to our work.
At the end of the researcher,the result reveals problems of our society.Those problems are specifically typied in social and political dimensions.Talking of political aspects the study shows that the system of governing in place,that is to say the democratic system,is not fulfilling its dividends. socially speaking,the study we made shows that our society is a victim of a number of vices.In fact,it was revealed that there is the paractice of injustice due to corruption.
