RESUME
Most and foremost, English is very important in life. The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of the linguistic environment on Burundian secondary school students' spoken English at the senior level. In fact, speaking a foreign langague go together with the environment where the pupils live. This study focuses on spoken English rather than Kirundi langague. In addition, since we observed amushrooming of schools in Burundi, the level of pupils diminishes. Spoken English should be improved through teaching oral lessons activities adequately to improve pupils' communicative competence. A number od secondary school teachers and pupils will be used to investigate the factors and ways to improve pupils' spoken english.
