This study entiled "Oppression and female friendship in Maryse Condé's/ Tituba Black Witch of Salem" examines the sufferings of women in general and slave women in particular.Slave women suffered because of their gender and color, and white women because of their gender .
the second phase of this study focuses on female friendship as the solution to female oppression.
This study is carried out against the hypothetical assumption that female oppression in Maryse Condé's,i Tituba Black Witch of Salem breeds female solidarity as a way of solving the problem. Our work employs feminism and psychological approach as its theoretical framework to show that female oppression is the outcome of men's superiority and female bonding is the way of putting an end to the oppression done to women by men.
