A thesis submitted in partial fulfilment of the award requirements for the the degree " licence en Langue et Littérature anglaises.

This work has sought to analyze pragmatically the socioculturel songs of the Intatana club.Pragmatics, which is of paramount importance in Linguistics, has pushed the researcher to conduct this study especially on sociocultural songs.
Since context is an outstanding element that helps to find out meanings behind the words used in constructing an utterance, particulary the verses of songs, the researcher considered this issue in the sociocultural songs of the Intatana club because these songs similarly embody a language that can be decoded when one takes into account the context in which the song is oriented. To be able to prove this, research questions were formulated and the necessary data to this study were collected from the texts of Intatana club songs, the leaders of the club whom I interviewed and the participants to various sociocultural parties to whom I interviewed a questionnaire to respond to my research questions. After the analysis,we came up with the following findings: socioculturel songs embody the use of figurative language, comparison, images, etc. The Intatana clubs songs equally comprise a language which affects positively the psychology of the hearers and creates their strong interest. The socioculturel parties' observation has equally revealed that the Intatana clubs songs brought about the audience into good mood. This work ends with some recommandations to the government, the parents, the young generation, the future researchers and the teachers at all levels of education.
