RESUME,

Our study aimed to answer the following research questions:
-What are the causes of errors produced in the use of English passive voice?
What are the problems faced by students of the third and fourth in TTS and those of second Modern Arts in using English passive voice?
What kids of errors that are made by learners in using English passive voice?
In conducting this study,we used two categories of instruments that are pupils' diagnostic test and the classroom observation.
Results showed that errors made by Burundian students in using English passive forms result from many factors such as overgeneralization;ignorance of rules restrictions,incomplete application of rules.We have classified the errors that are made in the use of passive forms in two categories i.e the interference Errors that are made in the use of passive forms in two categories i.e the interference errors and Intralingual Errors.Pupils made errors in the use of passive voice and the problems faced are those of incorrect use of past participle of verbs especially irregular verbs,using the wrong form of the verb << be >> or leaving it out altogether,
forgetting to changes.Another problem is that students have difficulties of handing with agentless passives.Another problem is that students have difficulties of handling with agentless passives,they also have difficulties of dealing with stranded preposition.
