RESUME,

This work explores politico-economic interests over which Kenya peasants fought with the British as depicted in Ngugi wa Thiong 'o and Micere Githae Mugo's the trial of Dedan Kimathi. It examines the way the British used power to exploit, discriminate and oppress Kenya peasants in order to consolidate their politico-economic position. It further capturezs the awakening of the people to recognize the need for revolitionary change, where violence and unity are the ultimate weapons available capable of driving out the oppressor;so as to get back their denied right's and advantages. This work assumes that, when a people exploits, discriminates and oppresses another one ,the latter can resort to violence,to drive away the former.Written against the postcolonial theory, this work concludes that, underprivileged people must one day stand up and fight for their rights and advantages.Throughout this work, capitalism, exploitation and self interest are rejected as a fair and viable way of life for the welfare of Africans.
