RESUME,
This work examines manifestations and consequences of economic and sexual exploitation in Mongo Beti's the poor christ of Bomba.To achieve this aim,we examine the relationships between the converts and the church officials.We investigate their attitude towards money and concealed sexual affairs.Using New Historicism and psychoanalytic theories,the study is carried out against the motives behind their teachings,the role of their institutions and the relatioship between them,their officials and sixa girls.It analyses the exploitation done by missionaries on the converts and different consequences on both the exploited and the perpetrators.The study was conducted against the hypothesis that the economic and sexual exploitation practiced in the poor Christ of Bomba affects not only victims but also the perpetrators.
