This study investigates on some problems related to encouragement and motivation for learning English language in First Form Arts level of Burundi Secondary schools. This work in divided into five chapters,which are the General introduction,literature review,Recearch Methodology,Data Presentation and the last chapter General Conclusion.Recommendation and suggestions.

In the first chapiter,General introduction,I introduce the reader to the problem and give its background.This problem in the lack of encouragement and motivation for learning English language as a foreign language in Burundi.In the same chapter,I talked of the aims of the study,the objectives and its importance.

In the second chapter,literature Review,I talked of thoughts,ideas,and contributions of other writer who have written on encouragement and motivation in language learning.

It the third chapiter,Research Methodology,concerns the techniques I used to carry out this study.

As far as thr fourth chapiter is concerned with Data Presentation,analysis and interprentation findings,I presented in tables the data collected for all questions checking out our hypotheses and research questions in relation with our topic. I tried to show the findings that I have found after I have analyzed and interpreted the data.

In the last chapter,General Conclusion,Recommandation and Suggestion,I conclud all I have done in all the research and I stated some recommendatations to the learners,the teachers and to the government about what they have to do in order to encourage and motivate English learners in Burundi Secondary Schools.I Suggested some topics for further researchers to go deeper in the investigation about Encouragement and Motivation in English language learning.
