The present work sets out to assess the english speaking skill teaching in primary schools in Vyanda commune.It firstly deals with the level of the speaking skills of the 4th year pupils of that commune. Secondly,it suggests the several ways of improving the speaking skill of those pupils. In conducting my research,I used some instruments like classroom observation,oral test and the teachers's questionnaire.
Those instruments led me to conclude that the lack of enough time,inadequacy of methods and the lack of teaching materials are the main factors which negatively affect the 4th year pupils' speaking skill.In order to improve the English speaking skill teaching in primary school,some recommandations were directed to program designrs,to pupills,to primary schools teachers, to the goverment and to future researchers.
