RESUME,

The present study aims to determine the effectiveness of the teaching methods used by the teachers When teaching the English language in the English language Learning centres in Ngozi City.It gives in detail the evaluation of the teaching methods,and to what extent they are effective for the learners.Then,it makes an attempt to explain why those teaching methods are effecient in teaching English in the English Language Learning centres.This work is therefore divided into five chapters.The first chapter is General introduction.It describes in detail the background to the study,the statement of the problem,the research questions and their corresponding research hypotheses.It also presents the motivation,the purpose of the study,the scope and delimitation of study and the definition of key terms of the topic.The second chapter is the methodology,and it presents the data collected by means of four research instruments such as teachers' and learners' questionnaires,unstructured interview and classroom observation.The fourth chapter deals with Data presentation,Analysis and findings harvested during the investigation.The final chapter is the General conclusion and recommendations.It concludes the work and gives recommendations to the government and to the other competent institutions whose role is to teach and promote the English language.
