Résumé,

The present study aimed at identifying problems specific to as simultaneous oral translation, as an activity occuring in oral communication context, in ordrer to find better strategies to tackle with related difficulties. It was conducted in order to verify three assumptions, namely : Burundian translators of religious discourses are more linguistically than strategically competent , the type of translation and the crcumstances under which the translation in churches of Bujumbura is done, block the success of the translation ; and the lack of the cooperation between translaters and preachers who most of times ignore the cocio-cultural context of the audience is the source of untranslatability and wrong translation. Four instruments, such as questionnaire, observation, interview and audio recording, were used fo the data collection.

The results from the collected data were both qualitativily and quantitativily analyzed for a theory generation.
The findings revealed that the problems encoutered by translators can take sources from themsleves as well as from the speakers, and both from the way this activity is conducted and the circumstances under which translators work. This is the reason why it was recommander that even the effort to look for solutions must be expected from the tree sides.
