Résumé,

English is one of the six international languages used all of over the world. In each society of the world, language has a great importance. The reasons why every member of society should use a language as a tool of communication in order to understand each other.

Consequently, Burundi is integrated in the countries of East African Community whose English is an official language. It is in this perspective Burundi intended tointroduce English language in all Burundi public primary schools. Furthermore, English is the language of communication and information technology. Its influence is today spreading throughout the world and in various domains such as politics, economy, culture, and administration.

Then, this work intends to check if this program is well applied in this new field.
Because the mastery of the four skills leads to the mastery of the English language as a whole.

In addition, the teaching of the four main skills in the Burundi educational system may sometimes be confusing, especially at the elementary level where it has recently been introduced (since Janary 2007). The objectives of the English language teaching should mainly focus on a balanced development of these four skills among the pupils, with a heavy emphasis laid on the speaking skill.

Both the methods and the teacher determine the instructional activity to which the learner must react. But, this instructional activity is not the learner's only source of language learning. There is also this linguistic role in society as well as the sociolinguistic forces exerted both upon him and his language activities.
Unfortunately, this interaction model is not noticeable in this sector because the government has not prepared in advance to determine all means indispensable and aims at the nationwide level.
