Résumé,

This study entitled "Investigation on the Need of Learning English in Roman Catholic Church Religious Congregation. A case study of some Selected Female Congregations in Bujumbura City" was aimed at determining the importance of learning English in religious congregation, if they need English in their apostolic lives.

This topic was chosen on the motivation of great need of the English language in the world, in Africa and in Burundi. In fact, English has become an international language and it is needed almost in all domains of life. As members of congregation are living in the contry where English is so important, they need to be aware of that and act consequently in order to fit in this world where English is becoming of crucial necessity.

The research was conducted on the basis of there research questions on the key factors that motivate someone to learn a foreign language, the extent to which English language is becoming of great importance, and the reason why Catholic Church religious congregations need to learn English in Burundi.

As results of this research, it was proved that may factors motivate people to learn a foreign language. Some have been mentioned such as communication with different people, studies and job opportunities.

Furthermore, it has been relized that English is becoming of great importance because it is an international language, and we need it in different domains of life.

The importance of English language in religious congregation was also underlined since members of these congregations are working in different services with different people.
