Résumé,

The research is conducted on The challenges of teaching the speaking skill in English to young beginners : A case study of grade one and grade two in selested primary schools in Muramvya commune.

The English language has gained importance all over the world and is continuously expanding in many coountries. The speaking skill is a foundation of language learning . However, the teaching of speaking skill is neglected by teachers not because it is not important but because ignore the techniques they can use.
The study intends to raise awareness among the education authorities about this lack. The researcher bases his methodology on tree main techniques that are : the teachers' questionnaire, the pupil' oral test and the class observation. Three research questions guided the researcher to conduct the work successfully. After the researcher's data analysis, interpretation and findings, all hypotheses have been proven right.

The data indicated that the methods of English teaching are handicapped by the lack of essential materials to learn the speaking skill in the English language. Therefore, the researcher after identifying all the challenges encountered by teachers in the course of their work gave some recommendations to the concerned authorities and partners so as to improve the teaching of speaking skill in English.
