RESUME

The acquisition of good performance in a language is a process. No one should begin to learn a language the first day and pretend to use it effectively the same day or year. This study deals with An Assessment of the Common Grammatical Errors made by Fourth Form Learners in productive skills. It focuses on grammatical difficulties that the learners encounter when they want to express themselves orally or in writing. This study ains at evaluating common grammatical errors made by Fourth Form learners, in speaking and in writing as both writing and speaking are productive skills, so as to discuss the ways and means which should be used to correct them.

This work is subdivided in five chapters :

The first chapter General introduction, talks about the background to the study, statement of the problem, aim of the study, significance and justification of the study research question and research hypotheses, scope and délimitation to the study, and definition of key terms.

The second chapter, literature review, looks at other works of other searchers related to ours.

The third chapter, methodology, talks about the methodology used in population sampling and the data collection procedures.

The fourth chapter is "discussion and findings" in it we discuss on errors found in our research and check the ones that are common.

The fifth and last chapter is "General conclusion and recommendations". It is here where we see if hypotheses are confirmed or not confirmed ; also in this chapter we suggest what should be done for the improvement of the English language learning / teaching.
