This work seeks to investigate the impact of western education on Acholi tradition as reflected in Okot p'Bitek's Song of Lawino and Song of Ocal. The focus of this work is on the changes occasioned by the introduction of western education and mode of life in Acholi society. To conduct this work, the researcher tried to elucidate some Acholi traditional values as reflected in the poems. The introduction of western education in Acholi tribe is equally exomined. From this perspective, we examine the impacts that this foreign culture exerts on indigenous way of life. The study therefore tests the hypothesis this western education generated contempt towards Acholi traditional values and brought about some modern positive changes.
