Résumé, <br/><br/>The present study aims at knowing how the use of drivers' jargon words interacts with drivers' network and, how drivers' jargon words are affected by social factors that govern drivers' community. Our research is based on the contentions that drivers' linguistic setting favors the creation of jargon words with literal and special meaning and that ; closeness, identity and the fact of sharing the same activity govern drivers' community as they govern drivers' community as they govern our community. 20 drivers from different bus-stops and others from transports agencies in Gitega Township were selected to participate in the survey. So, 15 drivers from the three main buses-stop and 5 others from transports agencies were randomly chosen as sample. <br/><br/>Results found have revealed on one side three different ways through which the creation of jargon words happen and so, by being influenced by social factors. On the other hand, it was proven true that the latter creation is inspired by drivers' domains of working. It was also proven true, through data analysis that drivers' jargon words can be linguistically analyzed like it is for any other language. The creation of jargon words revealed in Gitega Township in drivers' community is the process that can be applied to any other groups of workers who share the same activity.<br/>Any researcher who is interested in Linguistics should carry out further research especially on the comparative study of the jargon words spoken between two social groups.<br/> |
