The present study An assessment of public primary school teachers' performance in teaching english case of selected primary schools in Bururi province focuses on how public primary school teachers perform their English specifically in the classroom.It is structured around research questions and hypotheses.These are formulated about the teachers'performance in teaching English,the teachers'qualification,the problems they encounter in the teaching of English and the stratégies to take into account to improve the teachers' performance in teaching English.During the research,a teachers' questionnaire and classroom observation were used.The research finding of our research reveal that the graduates from teacher training or pedagogical sections do not teach English as it should be taught.Secondary,the primary school teachers are not trained to teach english.Thirdly,they come across many problems in the teaching pf English.At the end of this study,some stratégies that can be implemennted in order to improve the primary school teachers' performance in the teaching of English are suggested. |
