RESUME,<br/><br/>This study aims at developing fluency in oral comprehension and thus developing their ability to play an effective part in conversation and discussions.There are three Research hypotheses that guided our research:<br/>1. The text book today's English pupils is not suitable to learners at the senior form of the Arts section to improve pupils self-expression.<br/>2.The pupils' attitudes to teaching and learning the oral skill through conversation and oral reading influence the improvement of pupils' self-expression.<br/>2.The linguistic environment doesn't favor the improvement of pupils' self-expression.<br/>The linguistic environment doesn't the improvement of pupils' self-expression.<br/>Throughout this research two instruments have been used:written questionnaire and classroom observation.The written questionnaire was used to gather information as possible from teachers as well as from pupils.Another instrument was very important in the sense that it helped us to get information though "eye witnessing",and throughts that information we got from our informants in written form was not sufficient or would mislead us.<br/>Out of this research we use two main methods: quantitative methods and qualitative methods.In quantitative methods the results are presented in tables with frequencies and percentages.Qualitative methods:quantitative methods and qualitative methods:In quantitative methods the results are presented in tables with frequencies and percentages.Qualitative methods seek to discover changes over time throughout our informant's explanations.Next,35 pupils and 6 teachers are used as sample .Last but not least,we should mention that all our hypotheses have been confirmed.<br/> |
