This work on "The Impact of socio-economic factors on the learning of english as a foreign language in Burundian secondary schools",have five chapiters.
The first chapter is a general introduction that contains the background to the study,the statement of the problem,motivation of the study,research questions,research hypotheses,justification of the study,significance of the study,delimitation of the study and definition of key terms.
The second chapiter is the literature revieuw.It deals with what other scholars wrote about the impact of socio-economic factors on the learning of ENGLISH.
The third chapter deals with metholodology.Two kinds of instruments were used,that is,written questionnaires given to pupils and teachers as well as classroom observation.
The fourth chapter analyses the data collected and the researchfindings.The findings from this work have shown that the socio-economic factors are:the shortage of schools,the lack of financi&l support,large size classes,parental influence,pupils' the lack of teaching and learning materials,lack of a good setting,conditions in which students works,the last chapter deals with general conclusion and recommendations to the BEPEPF,to pupils,to teachers,to parents,to the ministry of Education and to the government as weel as to further researches.
