Evaluation of teaching of english pronunciation in Burundian primary schools / Jean Claude Turizeye ; Dr Sylvestre Nkurikiye, directeur . - Bujumbura : University of Buundi, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, 2014 . - VII-55 f. ; 30 cm.

Generally speaking, English is a language which is spoken in many countries of the world. It is mainly used for communication like other languages, and used in different domains.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the teaching of English pronunciation in Burundian primary schools.

In some Burundian primary schools, after the investigation, I realized that English pronunciation was not focused on as teachers did not have enough knowledge, and appropriate materials were not used for teaching English pronunciation, both learners and teachers had problems in English pronunciation. All those problems are mainly caused by lack of enough materials to use in teaching English pronunciation, lack of enough training to teachers for teaching English, and lack of enough time for learners to practice.

Since English pronunciation is the key to good communication, teachers should have been trained well enough in order to teach what they are good at, and should use appropriate materials.
