This work is aimed at examining the problem of barrenness,marriage and  cultural expectation in Two in two in one and the intention of the author in two in one by Mwangi Gichsru.It focuses on traditional Kenyan society and expores the expertyations that society demands from  a maried couple.This researcher examines people vaulting need for children and the plightof women who is unable to bear kids.An example is Halili,the protagonist in two in one who got married,but could not bear children beacause she was born barren.She divoced many times and was traumatized even in her own family.She is not responsable for her condition,but she becomes a laughing stock in her society.It is realized that among the Kikuyus of Kenya,a barren woman is considered as a curse to the society in general and to the family in particuler.This study is based on the hypothetical assumption that the female character in two in one suffers trauma and rejection as a result of her barren condition of which she is not the cause.This work calls on our readers to understand that barrenness is not  always a woman;s cause ans therefore she should be accepted as such.It equally calls on woman,victims of this condition not to sacrifice themselves to please society but to adopt other measures such as adoption,if they are desperate for children.
