The poems that are chosen for this work are political assault where Tanure Ojaide, attacks the leaders who have failed in their responsabilities. The study examines both the revolutionary spirit imbedded in Ojaide's themes and stylistic images. Through his poems, the poet does not stop at exposing the injustices perpetrated by those in political offices but goes ahead to urge the masses to rise and resist in a revolutionary manner. We explore the author's call for revolution as he empowers the oppressed. Tanure Ojaide also invites the fighters to imprison the enemy when he is caught alive instead of killing him. This work is written based on the hypothetical assumption that Ojaide through his poetry uses revolutionary themes and images that expose the political injustices perpetrated by African (Nigerian) leaders and urge the masses to unite and resist the forces of oppression by force. Written against the sociological approach and Marxism, this work concludes that the masses can only gain freedom through a forceful resistance of the agents of oppression and exploitation ER -
