RÉSUME,

This stusy concerned with a proposal of a program to teach English to journalists and Telecommunication operators. It dealt with a kind of a program which would be better for journalists and telecommunication operators. Its main purpose was to propose an appropriate program to teach English to journalists and people dealing with telecommunications whiwh may be helpful to overcomethe problems encountered by journalists and telecommunication operators as far as the use of English is concerned. The research hypotheses investigated were formulated as follows: the Englis program followed by telecommunication operators and journalists is not sufficient, the English program needed by journalists and telecommunication operators focus on technical English,writing, reading, speaking and listening, teaching English to telecommunication operatores and journalists uses special techniques and strategies and an English program for journalists and telecommunication operators should be established. The researcher used forty five (45) informants, that is 33 journalists and 12 tele^hone operators. A questionnaire has been used to colled data. The researcher selected three radio stations (33 respondents) in fourteen and two telecommunication companiers ( 12 respondents) in four. The respondents were chosen randomly and they provided useful information. Throughout the investigations, the researcher found out that technical english with only two hours per week was not sufficient for them to develop necessary skills in English language. Therefore, the study tried to contribute by proposing and English program for journalists and telecommunication operators by suggesting subjects, strategies and techniques to use.
