The first chapter is a general introduction that contains the background to the study,the statement of the problem,motivation of the study,research questions,research hypotheses,justification of the study,significance of the study,delimitation of the study and definition of key terms. The second chapiter is the literature revieuw.It deals with what other scholars wrote about the impact of socio-economic factors on the learning of ENGLISH. The third chapter deals with metholodology.Two kinds of instruments were used,that is,written questionnaires given to pupils and teachers as well as classroom observation.
